This is another rose I got for its genes. Wouldn't it be fun to see the spikes on a roxburghii bud covered with moss?
But quite apart from that, there is something about the delicacy of the bloom. Let me say here I have not yet seen this flower in person. But in every photograph I've got of it, there is an almost porcelain-like transparency to the petals. Is that really there? We'll see when she grows and blooms.
