Rugosa, 1891, Morlet
Couldn't resist the frilly leaves. I may use those genes. Unfortunately, I have absolutely the worst luck with rugosas, and so far Fimbriata is proving no exception. She grew well from a tiny plant, though she never flowered last year. This year she appears to have suffered a great deal of die-back. So far in mid-April she has not broken.
But then again, I thought Basye's Purple had died over the winter, and she didn't. So I guess there's hope.
