She will probably end up spending all but summers in the greenhouse with Old Blush. But when you get a chance to acquire something this unusual, how could you not?
I got the Wingthorn Rose (Rosa serica ptericantha) as an artist's model. I am drawing something like her for a series of novels I'm writing, and have never seen the real thing. While what I'm drawing is not, in fact, this rose, one can get an awful lot of inspiration from a living specimen.
